DETAIL 12/2012 - Hybrid Forms of Construction

Each material has its defining characteristics; in combination, certain of these become parts of highly efficient structures. Our examples: a school in Bangladesh, an office building in Austria, and a remodelled barn in Switzerland. The office building employs the highest standard of timber-concrete composites, while the barn now blends old and new, stone and concrete, and wooden beams and rammed-earth walls.
